Director General for Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Fars Province Mosayeb Amiri said that on Friday, October 12, marking commemoration of the renowned and great Iranian poet Hafiz, 18000 Iranians and foreign tourists visited his tomb.

It was already announced that visiting Hafiz grave compound opened from 8:00 A.M. to 21:30 PM, but actually for great number of visitors it renewed to 00:30.

Amiri said that in the first six months of the year (beginning March 21, 2018) a number of 1,023,452 Iranians and 23,151 foreign tourists have visited Hafiz grave in Shiraz, Fars Province.

Shams-ud-din Mohammad, known by pen name of Hafiz-e-Shirazi a Persian poet, was born in 1325 A.C and died in 1390 in Shiraz.

His pen name was due his memorizing the whole Holy Quran.
