'Iran, Cuba pioneers in development of regional convergence'

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian says Iran and Cuba are pioneers in the development of regional convergence.

Posting a Tweet in Farsi on Thursday upon the arrival of President Ebrahim Raisi and his accompanying delegation to Havana, the foreign minister said that Iran and Cuba could provide each other with chances of presence in alliances formed on the two ends of the earth.

Noting that the visit to Cuba is the last leg of President Raisi’s tour of Latin America, Amirabdollahian said that bilateral cooperation between the two countries focuses on biotechnology, technical, medicine, and energy.

President Raisi, arrived in Havana earlier today.

He has already visited Venezuela and Nicaragua on his five-day tour of Latin America.

Raisi is accompanied by ministers of foreign affairs, petroleum, defense and health as well as his deputy chief of staff for political affairs in his visits to the three countries.
