Iran FM stresses enhanced ties with African states

Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian says that Iran's policy is to expand ties with African countries.

Amirabdollahian made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran on Sunday with Burkina Faso’s Deputy Foreign Minister Issa Boro.

Tehran welcomes the development of cooperation with Ouagadougou, the foreign minister said while describing the future intergovernmental commission meeting between the two countries as a good opportunity for paving the way for fostering educational, scientific, and economic cooperation.

For his part, Boro said Burkina Faso is seeking to reopen its embassy in Tehran.

He said that conditions are ready to to deepen ties between Iran and Burkina Faso as the two countries are determined to expand their relations.

The diplomat said he travelled to Iran to review of issues of mutual interests.
