Iran military delegate visits Pakistan Naval Academy

Iran's Rear Admiral Arya Shafqat Rudsari, heading a military delegation, has visited Karachi and discussed ways to expand educational cooperation with Pakistan.

Shafqat Rudsari, the head of Imam Khomeini Naval University of Noshahr, Mazandaran province, and his entourage held talks with Head of the Pakistan Naval Academy Admiral Mohammad Khalid during their stay in the port city of Karachi, and also on the sidelines of his stay, he participated in the graduation ceremony and parade of the Pakistan Naval Academy.

The two sides discussed bilateral cooperation in areas such as education, student exchanges, and the dispatch of naval delegations.

The Pakistani official described the Iranian delegation’s presence at the graduation ceremony as a sign of profound friendship and mutual viewpoint regarding the maintenance of maritime security and stability.

Pakistan and Iran have significantly improved defense and security cooperation in recent years. Commander of the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Admiral Shahram Irani arrived in Islamabad on a three-day visit last Sunday at the official invitation of his Pakistani counterpart and held talks with army, navy, and air force commanders of the neighboring country.

Last January, an Iranian flotilla, including 2 ships and a submarine, also made an official four-day tour to the port of Karachi located in southern Pakistan.
