Iran was defeated by South Korea in the semi-final game and failed to advance to the final game but bagged a bronze medal after a historic win over Japan on Sunday.
All the three Iranian table tennis players performed remarkably although they were edged past by their South Korean rivals.
The bronze medal was Iran’s first table tennis medal of the Asian Games after 65 years.
