Interior Minister Abdol Reza Rahmani Fazli said on Sunday that foreign enemies and their agents in the region want insecurity in the region.

He made the remarks in meeting with Afghanistan National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar.

Rahmani Fazli said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is keen on consolidation of relations with the brotherly and friendly neighboring country of Afghanistan.

He called for strengthening of political, economic, security and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

The interior minister said that US and Israel are the common enemies of the Iranian and Afghan people and their agents in the region do not want security in the region citing to the terrorist operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

Rahmani Fazli said that Tehran-Kabul 5th joint economic commission due to be held in Tehran in the current week to reach agreements on water resources, Afghan refugees, drug-trafficking, transit of goods and border security.

Atmar said that friendship with Iran is a great national asset for Afghanistan.

He appreciated Iran's help fight terrorism and campaign against divergent groups such as Daesh.

He made it clear that Afghanistan believes that there is no good terrorism and the best way to confront with terrorism is to strengthen friendly ties with governments of the neighboring states.
