Empty and baseless threats made by some US statesmen are not worth answering; resistance, unity, and attempts to counter their plots are the strongest answers to them, said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday cabinet meeting.

'Iranian people have always chosen the path of resistance against US contrariness, misconduct, and lack of commitment in all fields,' said President Rouhani.

President Rouhani said that today, some US statesmen make some baseless remarks that are not worth answering and reciprocating; the more we try in Iran to produce and export, the more decisive our response would be.

'Parallel to the domestic attempts, we have started our legal and international moves, among which is the complaint we filed against the US government to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague; the US sanctions are contradictory to its previous commitments and UN resolutions. We have the right to make complaints in the international court.'

President Rouhani said that the first success was achieved; the ICJ court has informed the US that it should avoid taking any new measure and not to change the conditions; the letter, which is like a temporary order, has been sent to the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Iran has filed a suit in the ICJ against the US re-imposition of unilateral sanctions as Washington withdrew unilaterally from the Iran Deal formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on May 8.

President Rouhani also said that the global community condemns and expresses discontent about the US decisions.
