477,000 tons of commodity worth $160m was exported from Sistan and Balouchestan province in the first five months of the current Iranian year (beginning March 21).

“Exports from customs and border markets of Sistan and Balouchestan has grown %35 compared to the same period last year”, said the Supervisor of Sistan and Balouchestan Customs Department Reza Rasti.

He made the remarks in a press conference, and added, “The exports was chiefly consisted of construction material (cement) gas and other goods, which were mainly exported to Afghanistan and Pakistan”.

Referring to the import and clearance of 450,000 tons of commodity with a value of $514m in the same period, he reiterated “the imports mainly consisted of rice, sesame, mango, and home appliances, indicateing a %29 rise compared to the same period last year”.

Elsewhere in his remarks Rasti said, “foreign transit reached 482,000 tons with a value of $6b that has grown 4-fold compared to the same period last year”.
