Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said pursuing double standard policy in dealing with terrorism is by no means acceptable.

Criticizing Western countries for adopting a double standard policy regarding the problem of terrorism, Araqchi said they cannot claim to be at war against terrorism but, at the same time, accommodate them and provide them with media facilities.

After the [September 22] terrorist attack in Ahvaz, the Dutch and Danish ambassadors and the British temporary Chargé d'affaires were summoned to the Foreign Ministry last night and received Iran’s strong objection on possible providing of residential and media aid [by their countries] for a number of members of the mercenary and terrorist group that has claimed responsibility for the crime, Araqchi wrote in his Instagram page on Sunday.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran expects the mentioned governments to arrest the criminal suspects and all those affiliated with them and extradite them to Iran for trial,” Araqchi added.

He said that the UAE Chargé d'affaires in Tehran will also be summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to the biased allegations of the UAE officials made in support of Ahvaz terrorist attack.

At least 25 people including women and children were killed and more than 60 others injured during Saturday morning terror attack in Ahvaz which took place during a military parade held to mark the 38th anniversary of an eight-year imposed war against Iran.

“The terrorists disguised as the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Basiji (volunteer) forces opened fire at the authorities and people from behind the stand during the parade,' Governor of Khuzestan Gholam-Reza Shariati said hours after the incident.

The self-proclaimed Saudi-affiliated Al-Ahwaz terrorist group claimed the responsibility for the attack.

The terror attack was massively condemned by regional states and organizations and international community including the United Nations Secretary General António Guterres.
