Seriousness on all-out fight against terrorism in region essential: President Rouhani

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a meeting with Pakistan's parliament speaker emphasized the contribution of the neighboring countries to all-out fight against terrorism.

On the sidelines of the second conference of the heads of six Asian countries' parliaments in Tehran, President Rouhani in the meeting with Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser said 'the summit is a good and useful initiative for the security and development of regional cooperation'.

The Iranian president called a full-scale fight against terrorism and extremism for all as important, pointing out that those who created terrorist groups over past decades have indeed committed great treason to the region's nations.

Rouhani underlined, 'Many of these terrorist groups emerged in the proxy war between the United States and the Soviet Union.'

He stressed that Iran and Pakistan as two brotherly, neighboring and Muslim countries that have had cordial and cultural ties during the history must take steps in combating terrorism.
