Iran's ambassador: West mobilized Saddam in war on Iran

In a memo on his telegram channel on Wednesday on the eve of the anniversary of operations Karbala-4 and Karbala-5, Baeedinejad said the weapons and equipment were sent to Saddam's regime by the West and the East, especially the United States.

The Iranian diplomat also recalled the confessions of Howard Tischer, a member of the National Security Council of the United States in the court, as well.
Baeeidinejad wrote that although this need not be proven, the publication of documents of this important international development in the future can further clarify the details of the issue. 

But even so far, the publication of some documents, even on a limited scale, reveals important realities, said Baeedinejad.

“In the meantime, confessions of Howard Tischer, a member of the National Security Council (1977-1987) during the years of the Iran-Iraq War, which were filed in court in the Southern District of Florida as an attachment of documents to the court, contain important issues,” he noted. 

The confessions were due to legal complaints in the years following the allied forces' invasion of Iraq over the transfer of critical materials from a US company to Iraq.

Iranian ambassador to London wrote that Tischer made a confession that in June 1982, President Reagan had decided that the United States would not allow Iran to defeat Iraq in the war, so the president decided that the United States would do whatever it needed to take legal action to prevent Iran from defeating Iraq.

Tischer was further quoted as confessing that the head of the CIA, William Casey, was directly responsible for ensuring that Iraq had weapons, ammunition and armored vehicles, as long as not being defeated by Iran. 

Under the secret directive of the president, the United States actively supported the Iraq war plans by providing billions of dollars in funding and providing military intelligence and counseling to Iraqis on the one hand, as well as by monitoring the routes of sending arms and equipment to Iraq by third parties to ensure that Iraq received adequate weapons and equipment, Tischer was quoted by Baeedinejad as confessing. 

The United States also provided strategic operational advice to increase the efficiency of capabilities by the Iraqis in the war, Tischer was further quoted as saying.
