SNSC chief: Poland circus, US' latest desperate move against Iran

Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani referred to the US decision to hold an anti-Iran meeting in Poland as its latest desperate move against the Islamic Republic.

Talking to reporters on Saturday, Shamkhani said 'changing sanctions and pressures to seminars and meetings means US is desperate against Iran.'

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo earlier announced holding a meeting with the focus on Iran on February 13-14 in Poland.

Pompeo claimed that countries from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East will participate in this meeting.

The meeting will be held in line with US efforts to promote Iranophobia policy.

Earlier on Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javq Zarif in a post on his Twitter page wrote :“Reminder to host/participants of anti-Iran conference: those who attended last US anti-Iran show are dead, disgraced, or marginalized. And Iran is stronger than ever.'

He added “Polish Govt can't wash the shame: while Iran saved Poles in WWII, it now hosts desperate anti-Iran circus.'

Meanwhile, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi too in a Twitter message said that 1892 Polish people have been buried in Polish cemetery in Tehran since 1942.

He went on to note that 'After being released from Stalin's Gulag, over 100,000 Poles returned home through Iran.

'Iranians have continues to respect their Polish guests for 77 years,' he added.
