Iran ready to maintain nuclear coop with regional countries

Head of Iran Atomic Energy Organization referred to Iran's readiness to establish cooperation with regional countries in nuclear field and proposed setting up a technical committee on nuclear plants' security.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Ali Akbar Salehi said Iran enjoys great nuclear experiences, adding that the country has been active in the nuclear field.

Referring to Iran's readiness to have interactions with regional countries, especially with the Persian Gulf Littoral States, he said Arab countries started launching nuclear plants, adding that they need experts in this field. 

For much of his interview, Salehi pointed to importance of Bushehr nuclear plant security for Iran, saying Kuwait and Persian Gulf Littoral States are located near this plant.

Salehi went on to say that there are four nuclear plants in the Emirates which are under construction and the security of them is important for Iran.

Iran has proposed Persian Gulf Littoral States to convene for setting up a technical committee on security of nuclear plants.

He added that the committee consists of Iranian and foreign technical experts in nuclear field to hold talks on security of nuclear plants.
