No foe capable of harming vigilant Iranian people: Leader

The enemy cannot inflict any harm on a nation who is always on the scene, said Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Monday.

'The people of Iran did a great job on February 11,' said Ayatollah Khamenei, referring to the rallies held nationwide to mark the 40th victory anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

He made the remarks in a meeting with thousands of people of Tabriz who came to the Iranian capital at the occasion of 41st anniversary of the 1978 uprisings in the northwestern city.

Ayatollah Khamenei said, 'Of course, the enemy denies the participation of millions of people in the rallies, but everyone knows and realizes that the people who are on the scene like this cannot be harmed by any enemy.'

'God helps the people who defend their country like that. Some have worn off and say the Revolution has weakened; they attribute their weakness to the Revolution.'

Talking about the last Wednesday terrorist attack on the Iranian border guards that left 27 people killed and 13 more injured in southeastern Iran, Iran's Leader said, 'Such incidents should awaken us to ponder on the price paid to ensure security.'

Elsewhere in his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei said it is necessary that the authorities know their friends and foes and not be fooled.

'The enemy sometimes growls, sometimes throws blows, and sometimes smiles; they are no different; their smile is rooted in their hostility, too.'

'Their heart is teeming with grudge against Islam and the Islamic Establishment; the US animosity is overt and Europe is being deceitful. The authorities need to be careful not be beguiled. They should know that God's hand is above all.'

Ayatollah Khamenei also said that the world arrogance led by the US is on its weakest position and the Islamic Establishment in its best time.

'We don’t want to be naive and ignore the enemy, but the fact is that the enemy is deeply embroiled in domestic and foreign issues,' he said.

He added according to the official figures provided by the US and other countries, the United States is fighting with many problems, including social issues, depression of the youths, increasing number of homicides, spread of narcotics and addiction, disagreement among the officials, and strange amount of debts; that’s why they are faced with current situation in Afghanistan and Iran and are very angry about it.

Regarding the Warsaw meeting, he said, 'The feeble-minded statesmen of the US invited some of their allies and the intimidated and weak governments to Warsaw conference to take measures against Iran; however, the meeting produced no fruit, which is indicative of their weakness and what that makes them angry, so they start to brawl and insult.'

'The brawl is due to their weakness and shouldn’t intimidate authorities and youths.'

'When the Revolution was at its very early days they could do nothing significant; now that it has turned into a strong tree, they can't hurt it whatsoever.'

Iran's Supreme Leader also urged the youth and the authorities to use the innumerable capacities to address problems.

The meeting of authorities of the so-called Muslim countries with the Zionist regime and the failure in Warsaw conference defamed them, he said.
