US policies sagging: Iran security official

Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani made the remarks while addressing a national conference in Tehran on Sunday.

Although the US, West and certain reactionary states in the region have recruited mercenary terrorists to drain the roots of Islamic resistance, the youth partaking in the Resistance movement like those in the Syrian Army, Iraqi Hashd al-Shaabi, Yemeni Ansarullah and defenders of holy shrines proved that the world is not West oriented, Shamkhani said in his remarks.

He added that the straw figure some have created from the US power can be broken up easily.

Referring to the defeat of Takfiri terrorists in the region, Shamkhani said the most complicated plots hatched against the world of Islam are those which aim at creating a Takfiri domination over the Islamic lands.

He went on to stress that these kinds of threats were now removed thanks to the sacrifices made by the youth who are acting based on the culture of Resistance.

Today, enemies' strategies to ensure security of Israel’s borders have absolutely failed, the security official said, adding that the occupying regime of Israel now facing bigger threats from inside its own borders. 

Elsewhere in his remarks, Shamkhani talked of the US anti-Iran measures, saying the way Washington has chosen to counter Tehran will have no outcome but failure and defeat for the US and its allies.

Such failure has already been proved after defeat in formation of anti-Iran coalition by fanning the flames of disputes among the Arab countries, the February Warsaw summit and tens of other issues, Shamkhani said.

He further predicted that the US allies in the region will face uprising from inside by their own humiliated citizens if they continue to seek help from Washington.

Touching upon the nuclear talks between Iran and the world powers that led to the 2015 nuclear deal from which the US unilaterally withdrewn in May, 2018, Shamkhani said they thought in vein that they can halt Iran’s [peaceful] nuclear capabilities and its significant achievements in the region while both policies were defeated by the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

In the past forty years “the US flag and the West's dominance over the region has kept sinking due to the growing culture of Resistance,” Shamkhani said.

He mentioned that the late Founder of the Islamic Republic in Iran Imam Khomeini was the only and first leader who broke the fake grandure of the US centralization. 

At the end of his remarks, Shamkhani termed freedom and independence as Iran’s most precious cultural asset and said the echo of this precious culture is being heard from Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
