US using terrorism as tool to achieve goals: SNSC head

Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran (SNSC) Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani said that in the course of the crisis, the United States is not prepared to defend the people and governments against the terrorist elements, but uses all its weapons and intelligence capabilities for management of Terrorism for achieving its goals.

During his meeting with Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Iraq Mohammed Rikan Hadeed al-Halbousi on Wednesday, the Iranian official emphasized the expansion of regional, economic and security cooperation between Iran and Iraq, making it a strategic opportunity to provide security for the region and the development of the two countries. 

The senior Iranian official noted that the development of full-scale cooperation between Iran and Iraq could provide prosperity, sustainable well-being for the people of both countries with the planning and implementation of effective economic, commercial and energy programs.

The head of SNSC praised the positions of the speaker of the Iraqi parliament in support of the Palestinian cause and the protection of the rights of the oppressed nation of this country against the Zionist occupying regime, indicating the vigilance of the Iraqi society, and noted that diversionary plans for oblivion of the goal of the liberation of the Palestinian Islamic territory will not be realized.

During the meeting, Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi assessed the role of Iran in creating security and stability in the region, and said that the failure of the Takfiri terrorist movement was impossible without the presence of Iran's active role. 

Speaker of the National Parliament of Iraq, denouncing the use of the sanctions and unilateralism against the states, emphasized, 'Iraq will not allow any country to use the territory to take action against another country.' 

The Iraqi official added that unbreakable ties between the two nations, in the light of the religious, cultural commonalities of the leaders of the two countries, have paved the way for a unique interest in Iran and Iraq. 

Speaker of the Iraqi parliament met with Ali Larijani, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, this morning.
