Mahmoud Hojjati on Thursday on the sidelines of launching ceremony of the first high-tech greenhouse in the village of Gazaersang, Nazarabad in Alborz province, added that according to the study, five jars of Orchid flower equivalent to one barrel of oil can earn currency for the country.
He said the Orchid flower has a good export market, and each jar is sold between $ 8 and $ 12 in global markets.
Hojjati said that 90% of Orchid flower production has the export market, noted, “Setting up Orchid flower production units has a significant role in creating sustainable employment in the current situation.”
Minister of Agricultural Jihad pointed to the launch of the first high-tech greenhouse in the city of Nazarabad, and said, “The irrigation method of the greenhouse 's flowers is such that it has the lowest water consumption.”
The first high-tech greenhouse in the country has been constructed in an area of 22,000 square meters.
Today, the first piece was launched with the presence of Minister of Agriculture Jihad on an area of 5,000 square meters.
Minister of Agriculture Jihad, referring to the importance of producing some products for domestic and export needs, said that Orchid flower production is one of the products that is earning high amount of foreign currency for the country.
