Iran's Zarif blames S. Arabia for prolonging Yemen war

Iran's foreign minister Tuesday blamed Saudi Arabia for the continuation of the devastating war in Yemen by rejecting the peace plan suggested by Tehran.

Saudi Arabia & its allies rejected Iran's peace plan for Yemen in April 2015—claiming that victory was at hand within THREE WEEKS,' Mohammad-Javad Zarif wrote on Twitter.

The war in Yemen was waged by Saudi Arabia and its allies in March, 2015. Claiming to support the ousted government in Sanaa, Riyadh raided Yemeni cities and towns.

Thousands of people have been killed in air raids against civilian centers such as hospitals, markets and schools.

'On the eve of the war's shameful FIFTH YEAR, a reminder that it's not too late to stop the nightmare that this war has become,' Zarif said.
