Pak PM Imran Khan arrives in Tehran

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in Tehran late on Sunday at the head of high-ranking political and economic delegation for official talks with the Iranian senior officials.

He was welcomed by the Iranian Health and Medical Education Minister Saeed Namaki in Mehrabad Airport.

Prior to Tehran, Imran Khan was in the sacred city of Mashhad on pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Shia Imam.

President Hassan Rouhani will officially welcome him on Monday and afterwards talks between the two countries’ senior officials will start.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by a high-level delegation including Ministers of Human Rights, Maritime Affairs, Inter-Provincial Coordination, Adviser on Commerce, Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis and Special Assistant on National Health Services, Foreign Secretary besides several senior officials.

He is currently in Iran on the invitation of President Hassan Rouhani, his first visit to Iran as the county’s prime minister.
