Iran tests firewall for industrial safety

Communications minister reported development of an Iranian made firewall to neutralize industrial sabotage, adding that the youth can change threats into opportunity.

'Iran's university scientists have developed a firewall for industrial automation systems to neutralize industrial sabotage such as that caused by Stuxnet in power networks, and it was successfully tested,' Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi said.

He said that the Iranian made firewall be installed in the country's vital national infrastructure.

In a reference to the US sanctions on Iran, the Iranian young minister said that the youth can change threats into opportunity.

Following a Stuxnet attack on Iran's communications infrastructure in November, Azari Jahromi has said that Iran will not permit any further sabotage in its telecommunication system.

Iran has been targeted by cyber attacks in the past, including the malicious computer worm Stuxnet which aimed to demolish Iran’s nuclear sites.
