Iran rejects Russian reports that Tehran is prepared to negotiate with US

Deputy Iranian foreign minister reiterated on Wednesday that Tehran has not had any direct or indirect negotiations with the US and that there won't be any talks with Trump government.

"As we have said it over and over again, there haven't been and won't be any negotiations with the US," said Abbas Araghchi on Wednesday, according to the Foreign Ministry.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared for talks and negotiations with all the Persian Gulf states in a bid to reduce the tensions and help establish balanced and constructive relations based on mutual respect and interest," he stressed.

Russia's RIA Novosti had cited Araghchi as saying that "Iran hopes it can start talks [with the US], however, we are ready for war".
