COVID-19 kills 208 more Iranians over past 24 hours

The number of deaths from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran increased to 79,056 with 208 more Iranians killed by the deadly disease over the past 24 hours, Iran's Health Ministry announced on Tuesday.

Some 208 more Iranians have died from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours bringing the total deaths to 79,056, Iran's Health Ministry announced on Tuesday.

11,873 new cases of infection with the COVID-19 were found over the past 24 hours, 1,713 of whom were hospitalized, it said.

The Iranian Health Ministry noted that 2,362,428 patients out of a total of 2,855,396 infected people have recovered or been discharged from hospitals.

Some 4,695 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition in intensive care units, it added.

The Iranian Health Ministry went on to say that 19,185,933 coronavirus diagnosis tests have so far been carried out across the country.

Health Ministry also announced that 2,675,594 people have so far received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 470,468 people have also received the second dose.
