Iran’s Mehdi Pourrahnama wins gold medal at World Para Taekwondo Championships

On the last day of 2021 World Para Taekwondo Championships in Istanbul, Iran’s Mehdi Pourrahnama defeated a rival from Mexico 3-1 in the final game of -70 weight category to win the gold medal of the tournament.

On his way to the final game, Pourrahnama beat rivals from Russia and Turkey.  

Last night, Mahtab Nabavi received another gold medal for Iran in Women’s World Para Taekwondo Championships.

Some 264 athletes from 41 countries are present at the tournament which began on Saturday and will come to an end today (on Sunday).
