Iran's top nuclear negotiator meets with E3 reps

Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani met with the heads of delegations of three European countries, namely UK, France and Germany, on Monday within the framework of the eighth round of JCPOA talks in Vienna.

This was his second meeting with the E3 envoys in the second phase of the eighth round of Vienna talks, which resumed today.

According to IRNA correspondent in Vienna, he had already met with the EU foreign policy chief Enrique Mora during which they discussed the future process of talks which mainly focuses on removal of sanctions against Iran.

Dialogues among participating countries are expected to continue in the next few days at various bilateral and multilateral levels and formats.

Sources close to the negotiating teams speculate the Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will commence later this week.

Earlier today, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that Vienna talks mechanisms are specific.

Iran and P4+1 have held bilateral and multilateral talks, he said, adding that a trilateral mechanism between Iran, Russia, and China has always been pursued.

Khatibzadeh lauded progress in talks about sanction, nuclear, and verification phases, adding that due to US bad record and Europe inaction, Iran has to be sure that no one will humiliate the international regulations in the future.

If there is a common draft today, it is because the Western party understood that it should retreat from its maximum demands, he added.

He also noted that the Iranian delegation has travelled to Vienna to ensure that other parties of the talks are doing their commitment.

Nearly all negotiators hope that the talks will yield fruit within the next few weeks so as to reach an agreement for the revival of the commitments under a 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA).
