Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian in a phone conversation with his South African counterpart on Thursday highlighted the significance of Africa in Iran’s foreign policy.

He had a good evaluation of bilateral ties in different fields and expressed Iran’s readiness to hold the 15th joint economic commission with South Africa in near future.

The Iranian top diplomat also mentioned Iran and South Africa’s mutual support in international organizations and emphasized continuation of the trend.

He praised South Africa’s stance on Palestine, saying that the South African nation can understand the current apartheid against the Palestinian people.
