Two Iranian airlines granted direct flight permission to Muscat

Iran’s Iran Air and Karun Air were allowed to have direct flights to Muscat as a result of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s Oman visit.

President Raisi travelled to Oman last week, with new cooperation agreements on transportation and transit on the agenda.

Iranian passengers were using some Arab airlines, including Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines to travel to Muscat.

Iran Air was deprived of flight permission in this route for about two decades, but the airline along with Karun Air have been granted the permission by Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority and can now have direct flights.

Oman has also reduced visa fees and facilitated entry for Iranian citizens for 14-day residence.

Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization on January allowed Oman Air to carry out charter flights to Iran, with two flights a week.
