Brazil-Iran 120-year ties precious asset: Iranian FM

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has described the 120 years of relationship between Brazil and Iran as a valuable asset.

Amirabdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Kenneth Nóbrega, Secretary for Africa, Europe, and the Middle East of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who is visiting Tehran to take part in the 11th Brazil-Iran political consultation meeting.

The Iranian foreign minister pointed to the fact that the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi attaches importance to expansion of ties with Latin American states, noting that the Islamic Republic does not have any limit in expanding all-out relations with Brazil.

He further underlined that the governments of both countries are needed to support removal of obstacles and challenges of the private sector in the expansion of trade and economic exchanges.

For his part, the Brazilian deputy foreign minister emphasized the need for implementing pragmatism dominant in mutual ties, adding that the boost of relationship with Iran is of great importance in the eyes of the Brazilian government.

Nóbrega also expressed satisfaction with the talks held with Amirabdollahian, underscoring the significance of increasing the exchange of political delegations for expansion of cooperation and coordination between the two countries.
