President Raisi: Iran determined to implement agreements with Kazakhstan

Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi said in a meeting with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev that Tehran was determined to implement agreements between the two countries.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 22nd Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit on Friday in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

President Raisi expressed hope that the ties between Tehran and Nur-Sultan would lead to regional and international agreements.

The Kazakh president, for his part, gave a successful assessment of the meeting and underscored acceleration of implementing Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran corridor and unifying customs and transportation tariffs in the three countries.

President Tokayev said that his country had facilitated Iranian businesses’ entry and highlighted the necessity of increasing logistic and transportation capacities.

He also invited President Raisi to attend the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) to be held in Kazakhstan.
