Iranian's patience, resistance defeated enemies in riots: Pres. Raisi

President of Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, said that the stunning progress of Iranians is the reason for the enemy's grudge against the Iranians, adding that Iran's enemies sought to cause trouble for the country in the recent riots, but the Iranians have defeated them with patience and persistence.

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Sadeq (PBUH), Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Friday, received the participants of the 36th Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran.

About 200 scholars from 60 countries and 100 political and cultural figures from inside Iran are present at the 36th Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran. 

Addressing the heads of Iranian government branches, officials, and guests in the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference in the meeting with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Iranian President considered the reason for the enemy's grudge against the Iranians, its stunning and all-round developments.

Raisi said that in his recent visit to to New York -  following participation in the 77th United Nations General Assembly- the Secretary General of the United Nations apologized in a private meeting and said that despite many efforts, he could not lift the sanctions related to the Covid-19 against Iran, which he replied that the Iranians have always created opportunities from threats and sanctions, and in the case of Covid-19 Pandemic, Iran was an exporter on Covid-19 Vaccine with the activation of six vaccine production centers, and today Iran is among the top countries in the world in dealing with this disease.

Referring to Iran's scientific progress, economic growth, reduction of inflation and increase in commercial and international cooperation, Iranian President thanked the Iranians for their sincere cooperation with the government, especially in the implementation of economic reforms, and said: Iran's enemies are also seeking to cause trouble for the country in the recent riots, but the Iranians defeated them with patience and perseverance as in the past.

From the 12th day of Rabbi ul-Awwal – the third month of the Islamic calendar – to the 17th day is called Islamic Unity Week and the week is held annually by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.

Figures from the Islamic World attend the Islamic event which is being held in person after two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Islamic Unity Conference is held to help the Islamic World achieve unity and establish a united Islamic Ummah in order to solve the Muslims' problems.
