Iran self-sufficient in supplying its needs, AEOI chief says

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami said on Wednesday that Iran has become self-sufficient in supplying its needed items.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Iranian nuclear scientists, Eslami said that Iran's nuclear martyrs were young people who passionately used all their intellectual, executive, and managerial capacities for increasing the country's progress.

Nuclear martyrs tried their best to bring maturity to the country’s nuclear industry, he said, adding that the most significant achievement of the nuclear martyrs' efforts was that they brought the Islamic Republic of Iran a capacity for self-sufficiency that the West cannot destroy or eliminate it.

Pointing to the significant achievements of the AEOI, he highlighted that they had to bypass sanctions to supply the needed items for the country, but now the country is self-sufficient and it can provide the needs of other countries as well.

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has achieved success in the use of nuclear energy, power sector (electricity generation), and radiation applications, he noted.

Referring to the success in the production of radiopharmaceuticals in the field of health, Eslami underlined that the drugs produced and supplied by the Atomic Energy Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran are now available to one million patients and about 206 nuclear medicine centers in the country are using them.
