According to Zionist media, Hamas has called on thousands of Palestinians to attend the event and participate in anti-Zionist demonstrations.

According to reports, during the previous Great March of Return rallies from 2018 to 2021, Palestinians were repeatedly attacked by the Israeli military, resulting in 300 deaths and over 30,000 injuries.

The rallies reached their peak on May 15, 2022, when Palestinians commemorated the Nakba, or Catastrophe, which refers to the forced displacement of 750,000 Palestinians from their homes and villages in 1948 to make way for the establishment of Israel.
