Iranian para-powerlifter Ahmad Aminzadeh clinched the gold medal in the +107 kg category of Fazza 13th Para Powerlifting 2024 World Cup in Dubai.

Ahmadzadeh set a record in his third attempt after lifting 267kg weight and grabbed a gold medal in the men's division.

He had lifted 250 and 260 weights in his first and second attempts. 

Mehdi Sayadi, who had won silver in Hangzhou Asian games, became fourth after lifting 231 kg and failed to collect a medal.

Earlier, Mohsen Bakhtiar of Iran claimed a gold medal in the men's up to 59kg with a 196kg lift.

Fazza 13th Para Powerlifting 2024 World Cup, which serves as qualification for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, has brought 183 powerlifters from 32 countries together in Dubai, the UAE from February 28 to March 6.

The medal winners will automatically qualify for the 2024 Paralympic Games.
