Desperate acts will not stop Zionist defeat: Ayatollah Khamenei

Supreme Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said the Zionist regime will not be able to evade defeat by resorting to desperate acts such as the airstrike it carried out against the Iranian consulate in Syria.

The Supreme Leader made the remarks while receiving senior Iranian officials and legislators on the occasion of the holy fasting month of Ramadan in Tehran on Wednesday.

Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized: “The defeat of the Zionist regime in Gaza will linger, and the regime will come close to collapse and dissolution. Desperate attempts like the actions the regime committed in Syria will not save them from defeat. Of course, they will also be slapped for these acts.”

The Supreme Leader also said that this year’s International Quds Day, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, will turn into an international uproar against the occupying Zionist regime.

The Quds Day was held only in Islamic countries in previous years, but in this year it will most likely be held in non-Muslim nations, he said.

Ayatollah Khamenei also called on the Iranian people to participate in this day's rallies en masse.

In 1979, the founding father of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, designated the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as Quds Day, marked by holding demonstrations against the Israeli regime.
