Head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) Mohammad Ali Najafi voiced Tehran's readiness to host more Syrian tourists.

In a meeting with visiting Syrian Minister of Tourism Besher Yazji, Najafi stressed the need for expansion of Tehran-Damascus cooperation in cultural and tourism fields.

Referring to Iran-Syria good relations, Najafi further expressed hope that the existing problems facing the brotherly country of Syria would be resolved soon, the Islamic republic news agency reported.

Yazji, for his part, described ties with Iran as important and strategic.

The Syrian tourism minister is in Iran at the invitation of Najafi.
