Managing Director of the Supplying Petrochemical Industries Parts, Equipment and Chemical Engineering Co. (SPEC) Jalil Sobhani said that the SPEC plans to procure all the equipment and necessary parts from the inside market and to attain self-sufficiency in the sector by relying on domestic experts in the next five years.
Earlier this month, Managing Director of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Abbas Sheri-Moqaddam said that Iran has considerably increased its petrochemical exports as sanctions against the Islamic Republic are eased in the wake of an interim nuclear deal between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany).
"More than 40 million tons of petrochemicals were produced in the country in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2014), $ 9bln equivalent of which was exported,”
