Iranian Minister of Youth and Sports, Masood Soltanifar in a message has congratulated Iranian taekwondoka Kimia Alizadeh on her second place in world championships.

Despite all injuries and problems, she could snatch Iran’s first world silver medal in female section, Soltanifar wrote in a recent instagram post, praising the Iranian athlete for going on with her fight despite painful wounds.

Though severely injured, Alizadeh continued fight in the final match and she was overshined by Ivory Coast rival and received the silver medal.

The 23rd round of World Taekwondo Championships was held with the attendance of 973 taekwondoka from 183 countries in Muju, South Korea from June 24 to 30.

Kimia Alizadeh won bronze medal in Rio 2016 Olympics, first medal in the history of Iran's women Olympics sports.
