Iran tries its best to reflect the oppression against Yemeni people to the world and international forums, Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

We have always declared that Iran has no military link with Yemen and that its defense and missile capabilities is an internal issue of that country, Bahram Qasemi said reacting to a White House statement on Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic gesture in opening a port and an airport to help Yemenis.

By making unfounded accusations and also by taking political and purposeful measures against Iran, US is trying as always to distract the public opinion and the international community from the inhumane crimes being committed by the [Arab] coalition of aggressors in Yemen, the diplomat said.

Instead of asking Riyadh to halt bombardment of the non-military targets and massacre of the innocent and defenseless Yemeni people, he added, Washington explicitly talks about its support for Saudi Arabia to continue its heinous crimes.

“The United States welcomes the announcement from Saudi Arabia and the Saudi-led coalition that it is reopening Hudaydah port and Sanaa International Airport to allow the urgent flow of humanitarian aid to the people of Yemen,' read the White House statement.

'Undoubtedly, the White House statement indicates US participation in Saudi’s crimes against Yemen. As repeatedly mentioned, Iran welcomes any initiative to sent humanitarian aids to Yemen,' the spokesman said.
