President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday that Daesh collapse is a great success for Iran, as defeat of Daesh was not only the defeat of a group; but it was also the failure of an international plot against the Middle East.

The defeat of Daesh is a great achievement for the Islamic Republic of Iran since it proved that the Iranian forces and commanders have had an “influential presence in the region” in the recent years, President Rouhani said in an address to the university students in the southeastern Province of Sistan-Baluchestan.

“Today, we face a very special situation in the region and worldwide, as it is a rare event in the history of the region that terrorists are easily moving throughout the region and we are the one who shoulder the heavy burden of fighting them while in our neighboring states some young rulers took office who lack sufficient experience,” said the president.

“It is also strange to see a person ruling a superpower country whose next behavior is not predictable for anyone and nobody knows what he will do tomorrow and this state of uncertainty has even worried the Europe,” he added.

President Rouhani added that he is “not worried about regional situation and relations with the world as well as economic issues, as I believe that we have problems and we have also solutions to settle them.

“The solutions should be carried out in a correct way.”

“The fact that Iran, Russia and Turkey are sitting down together for talks on international developments and the outcome of the talks affects the future of the region and the entire world, is considered an unprecedented move,” President Rouhani said.

Elsewhere in his speech, he stressed the need for presence of freedom in the universities, arguing, “Without freedom there will be no creativity and in the absence of creativity, there will be no innovation.”
