Thousands of Iranians in the capital, Tehran, have condemned the anti-Islam sacrilegious movie and cartoons that insult Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Press TV reports.

People from all over Tehran came to the streets on Thursday to protest against insults to Islam and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

They chanted slogans against the US and Israel and carried placards in condemnation of the recent insults to Islamic sanctities.

“The aim of this event is to tell the enemies of Islam that they do not have the right to offend the prophet. There are more than two billion Muslims throughout the world and they will protest whenever Islam is offended under the pretext of freedom of speech,” one demonstrator said.

“Just like other Muslims in the world, we have come here to show how offended we are by this act. We have come here to show the world that we love our prophet and we will always support him,” another rallier said.

Protests have been held in Muslim countries against an American movie that insults Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The US-made anti-Islam movie is said to have been made with the help of the Zionist donations totaling USD 5 million.

The sacrilegious movie was followed by the publication of cartoons mocking the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) in the satirical French weekly Charlie Hebdo on September 19.
