In the match held at Tehran’s Takhti Stadium, Farhad Majidi gave Esteghlal a lead with a header in the 66th minute.
With one minute remaining, Vouria Ghafouri found the back of the Esteghlal’s net with a beautiful right-footed.
Ghafouri was also chosen as the man of the match.
“We could have won the match, however I am satisfied with the result,” Naft coach Yahya Golmohammadi said in the post match news conference.
“I think both teams showed a good performance. Our strikers didn’t take advantage of their chances,” Golmohammadi added.
Foolad is at the top of the IPL standings with 26 points, followed by Persepolis at 24 points and Sepahan at 23 points.
Naft is fifth with 22 points and Esteghlal is seventh with 16 points with three games in hand.
