In his Monday message to Syrian President Bashar Assad, Raisi said he was sure that in the light of huge potentials of the two countries, valuable steps can be taken to ensure the comprehensive development of relations and pave the way for regional cooperation and the expansion of peace, stability and growth in the region in all areas.

As in the past, the Islamic Republic of Iran will stand by the neighborly and brotherly government and nation of Syria, Raisi said.

He voiced Tehran’s support for the independence and territorial sovereignty of the Syria, emphasizing the need for the withdrawal of the occupiers from the country.
