“As part of their bid to impose sanctions on the Islamic Republic, the enemies initially set out to forestall the sales of Iranian oil, but the quality of the country’s crude will always prevent the realization of their aim,” Qasemi said.
The minister said not only has the escalation of sanctions failed to stall the expansion of Iran's oil industry, but it has also provided an apt opportunity for the development of the country.
“By deploying the skill and expertise of young native scientists, the [Iranian] oil industry is progressing toward self-sufficiency day after day,” he added.
The US and the EU imposed new financial sanctions as well as oil embargoes against Iran earlier this year, under the baseless accusation that the country’s nuclear energy program may include a military component.
Tehran refutes such allegations, noting that the frequent inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency have never found any diversion in Iran's nuclear energy program toward military purposes.
