Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned of ‘long-term plots’ by the enemies in the Middle East to secure the Israeli regime’s future.

“The enemies of humanity are pursuing long-term objectives in the Middle East and are currently seeking to change the situation to their own benefit,” said President Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI) Ammar Hakim in Tehran on Tuesday.

He added that the hegemonic powers are making their utmost efforts to preserve the Israeli regime and to maintain dominance over the nations.

The Iranian chief executive stressed the importance of adopting an international approach to regional issues and developments.
Under the current circumstances, where the global arrogance is on the verge of decline and seeks to remove the obstacles in its hegemonic ways, independent and justice-seeking countries should not allow them to carry out a bid, President Ahmadinejad stated.

He urged regional governments and nations to remain vigilant and shore up their efforts to achieve independence, freedom, dignity and justice.

Hakim, for his part, stressed the Islamic Republic’s leading and effective role in preventing various crises in the region.

He also said that the ISCI has, over the past two years, taken “very good measures aimed at reconstruction and the creation of a trend of progress in Iraq.”
