The Fourth Beijing International Traditional Music Festival has been inaugurated by performing Iranian traditional music in addition to other ethnical musical pieces.

Iranian traditional music performed by Naghmeh-Saz ensemble was greatly acclaimed by the audience.

Musicians from China, Egypt, India, Bangladesh, Peru, Greece and Bulgaria were other performers who rendered their programs at the opening concert held at the China Conservatory of Music Hall on October 7, 2012.

A number of China’s cultural officials, ambassadors to China and Iran’s cultural attaché along with some Iranian residents attended the inauguration event.


Organized by the China Conservatory of Music, the festival is to present concerts, seminars, and an awards ceremony.

The event will present various aspects of the preservation and development of traditional music from China and the world.

The Fourth Beijing Traditional Music Festival is slated to run until October 25, 2012.
