A senior Iranian lawmaker says Iran Majlis (parliament) will pursue the recent terrorist attack in the southeastern port city of Chabahar which killed two people.

Chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Saturday that the terrorist attack aimed to undermine the unity among the people of Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

On Friday, a terrorist detonated his explosive-laden vest near Imam Hussein (PBUH) mosque in southeastern Iranian city of Chabahar, killing two Basij forces and injuring four other people.

Boroujerdi emphasized that the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee would pursue the terrorist attack.

Sistan and Baluchestan province has been the scene of many terrorist acts by the Jundallah terrorist group, which has carried out numerous bombings and assassination attempts against Iranian government officials and civilians, including women and children.

On December 15, 2010, terrorists targeted a crowd of mourners marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH) - the third Shia Imam and grandson of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) - in the southeastern city of Chabahar.

At least 33 people lost their lives in the massive bomb explosion which also left more than 95 others injured.
