“Given different comments by the P5+1 countries and their willingness for the continuation of the meetings, we definitely welcome the talks,” Mehmanparast said.
We have, however advised them to adopt a “logical approach” if they seek an immediate agreement, he added.
He said that any misunderstandings surrounding the Iranian nuclear program could be removed if Iran’s inalienable rights to the use of peaceful nuclear technology, including its right to uranium enrichment, are recognized.
“In our opinion, if our inalienable rights to peaceful nuclear activities are recognized and we enjoy the right to uranium enrichment within the framework of peaceful activities, the remaining alleged concerns could be removed,” he said.
Iran and the P5+1 comprising -- Britain, China, France, Russia, the US and Germany -- have held several rounds of multifaceted talks mainly focused on Tehran’s nuclear energy program.
Iran has repeatedly voiced its readiness for negotiations based on mutual respect while maintaining that it will not give up its inalienable rights under any circumstances.
The United States, Israel and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.
Iran argues that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it is entitled to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
