The latest statistical figures released by the National Iranian Oil Production and Distribution Company (NIOPDC) showed that daily gasoline consumption in Iran rose slightly during the first week of winter that ended on December 28.

The NIOPDC report released by the oil ministry's website showed that average daily gasoline consumption rose slightly hitting 60.7 million liters, up by 200 thousand liters against a week earlier.

During the mentioned week, total gasoline consumption stood at 425 million liters, up by 1.1 million liters or 0.2 percent week on week.

The NIOPDC data showed that gasoil consumption witnessed a free fall, declining 88.9 million liters against a week earlier. Gasoil consumption totaled 736.3 million liters during the week that ended on December 28, down by 10 percent week on week.

Meanwhile, kerosene consumption edged up hitting 142.4 million liters up by 22.7 million liters or 18.9 percent when compared with a week earlier. Average daily consumption of the product stood at 20.3 million liters.

The NIOPDC report indicated that fuel oil consumption reached 346 million liters, down by 30 percent in comparison to a week earlier while average daily consumption hit 49.4 million liters.
