Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari in a meeting in Islamabad explored avenues for the further expansion of the relations between the two neighboring countries.

During the meeting in the Pakistani capital on Wednesday, the two sides discussed issues of mutual interests as well as the development of economic, political and parliamentary ties.

They also exchanged views on trade interactions between the two sides.

Larijani and Zardari also underscored accelerated implementation of cooperation projects and other bilateral agreements already held by the two states.

Larijani is in Pakistan for a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Economic Cooperation Organization (PAECO) in Islamabad.

Iran and Pakistan have always had very close and intimate relations throughout the history.

The two countries exchange delegations on a regular basis and their leaders are resolved to further accelerate expansion of ties and cooperation between the two neighboring nations.
