Playing a blame game on others continuously accusing the neighbors is not the solution to Bahrain's internal problems, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Friday.

He urged the Bahraini government to follow the international community's repeated demands for start of talks with the protest leaders.

The official dismissed Bahraini security officials’ efforts to relate the country’s internal problems to Iran and noted that reiterating the worn-out allegations cannot help Bahraini rulers to hide their internal problems.

Periodically, the Bahraini government arrests a number of its citizens under the pretext of fighting terrorist cells and in the meantime claims they are connected to the Islamic Republic, he said.

“The international community knows very well that the six-year-old crisis in Bahrain is the result of this country’s government security approach towards peaceful protest of civilians,” Qasemi added.
