Hakim calls for strengthening of Iraq-Iran relations

The leader of Iraq's National Wisdom Movement, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim has called for the strengthening of bilateral relations between Iraq and Iran.

The senior Iraqi cleric made the call as he received Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad Mohammad-Kazem Ale-Sadegh on Saturday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest political developments in Iraq and the region, as well as the relations between Tehran and Baghdad.

Hakim said the current stability in Iraq is important as it will positively impact the entire region.

The senior cleric also stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, where more than 32,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 7, and said silence in the face of such atrocities would give the Zionist regime a green light to continue the aggression.
